Prof. Dr. A. Yavuz Oruç
Electrical and Computer Eng. Dept. of University of Mryland

The presentation will survey of the recent results in system-on-chip and network-on-chip design and architecture research, explore the possible directions to identify and tap such computational opportunities, and share some thoughts on what may lie ahead with several competing ideas in both theoretical and technological domains such as quantum, analog, and stochastic computing paradigms and models of computation.

Prof. Dr. Erdal Arıkan
Electrical-Electronics Engineering Department of Bilkent University, Ankara

This talk will begin by a tutorial introduction to basic concepts of information theory, such as entropy and channel capacity. In this context, source and channel coding problems will be described. The second half of the talk will discuss polar coding and its significance both from theoretical and practical viewpoints. The talk will conclude by some remarks about research challenges for the near future.
